Auckland

Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand with a population of 1.6 million people and ranks as world’s 3rd most liveable city (as per the 2019 Mercer Quality of Living Survey). It is the centre of the country’s retail and commercial activities. Auckland is also known as the “City of Sails” as it is a harbourside location with great number of yachts that sail in harbours and the adjoining Hauraki Gulf. Auckland is widely known as Financial capital of New Zealand. Wellington

Christchurch

Work Opportunities

International students in New Zealand have the same legal minimum rights and entitlements as anyone else working in the country. These include the right to be paid at least the minimum wage, paid annual and public holidays, and rest breaks. The minimum wage rate of New Zealand is NZD 22.70 per hour, which is one of the highest in the world. A student holding a Student Visa is allowed to work for 20 hours a week during term time and full-time during scheduled holidays. Masters by research and PhD students are allowed to work full-time all through.
