Scholarships in

New Zealand

There are a number of scholarships, bursaries and grants available to financially support international students in New Zealand. There are many Government as well as individual University scholarships that are offered to the international students to take benefit from.

These scholarships are primarily based on the types mentioned above. They help in creating a pool of well-educated and highly skilled professionals who can contribute to the development of the country. In New Zealand, there are two intakes over the year when students apply for scholarships: one being the major intakes in February and July and other minor intakes in April, September and November.

While the institutions offer scholarships for various undergraduate and postgraduate programs, one scholarship that stands out from the rest is the New Zealand Excellence Award which is jointly funded by New Zealand universities and Education New Zealand (ENZ). The NZEA features scholarships across New Zealand universities, offering an opportunity for students to experience New Zealand excellence in various programmes.

The scholarships offered by New Zealand universities and ENZ can range from $1,000 - $30,000 annually.

United Kingdom

U.K has been at the top of the list when it comes to providing education. UK universities are among the best in the world which makes this country the most desirable for the international students. There are many scholarships, funding and grants that UK offers to the international students who are planning their education in the country. Along with the government scholarship programs, universities have their individual scholarships.

While the institutions offer scholarships for various undergraduate and postgraduate programs, one scholarship that stands out from the rest is the GREAT Scholarship. GREAT scholarship is jointly funded by the UK government and the British Council with participating UK higher education institutions. It offers 60 scholarships from UK universities, across a variety of subjects for students from India. Each scholarship is worth a minimum of £10,000 towards tuition fees for a one-year postgraduate course.

Canada

Canada is an educational hub for international students to pursue their education. Although the education fee might not be as high as other countries but paying for higher education can still be very expensive. Canada provides students with scholarships under three main categories - Canadian Government Scholarships, Non-Governmental Scholarships and Institutional Scholarships. While applying for these scholarships, overall eligibility criteria might vary but some general requirements that need to be kept into consideration are: Academic excellence, language proficiency and extracurricular indulgence.
